In retrospect, Briana is glad she stood up for herself. She knew a lot of students who supported what she did even though they didn’t want to speak up themselves. They didn’t want to be in the spotlight, but they gave Briana the encouragement not to give up.

Meanwhile, in her new school, Briana joined a choir that used its holiday concert to sing songs that were simply “fun” and not tied down to any one religious belief.

God at School Assemblies

I mentioned earlier that prayers at graduations and athletic events were the source of most of FFRF’s school-related complaints. Next on the list are violations dealing with forming atheist groups, which we’ve already discussed. Third are religious groups brought in for school assemblies.
